Q3 2026 People Moves
Investment professionals once again led all hiring activity in Q3, accounting for 29% of people moves. Activity was strongest in July and September, with a lighter August, and several additional hires have already signaled they will be making moves public in Q4. Notably, internal promotions rose sharply to 16% of moves, and a series of planned CEO transitions point to a continued industry focus on leadership continuity and formalized succession planning. Capital formation remains a strategic priority across the board, with capital raising and investor relations hires growing to 13% of moves and spanning capital formation, investor solutions, and client capital functions. On the sector side, hospitality and residential drove the most activity, with real estate credit remaining an active area of hiring and healthcare, including seniors housing and outpatient medical, continuing to build momentum.
